Dr. Sanjay Kumar Thakur

Dr. Sanjay Kumar Thakur is a distinguished Professor and Head of Department of Internal Medicine with over 25 years of specialized expertise in thyroid disorders, diabetes, and hormonal health. He completed his MBBS from Institute of Medicine (IOM), Maharajgunj, and MD in Internal Medicine from NAMS/Bir Hospital.

He pursued advanced training with a Diabetes Fellowship at Christian Medical College, Vellore (India) and an Oncology Fellowship at Royal Marsden Hospital/ICR, UK. As an active member of the Diabetes & Endocrinology Association of Nepal (DEAN) (Membership No. 144), he contributes to national standardization of diabetes and thyroid care.

He has served as a spokesperson for the Ministry of Health and Population (MoHP), leading public health campaigns and pandemic management. His research on microalbuminuria in Type 2 Diabetes patients and steroid-induced diabetes has been published in peer-reviewed journals. Dr. Sanjay provides patient-friendly, evidence-based care for thyroid, hormonal, and metabolic conditions, serving patients from Kathmandu, Lalitpur, and Bhaktapur.
